田畑洋人建築研究所は、文化や歴史を尊重しながら、日常の中に新たな可能性を見出し、その追求を続けています。
田畑洋人建築研究所は、風景と調和し、生活に寄り添う建築を創造することを目指しています。自然と共鳴する素材の質感、そして光と影の繊細な動きを重視し、建築のあらゆる要素が一体となることで、時の移ろいや四季の変化が感じられる空間を設計しています。
私たちのデザインプロセスは、歴史的・文化的なリサーチを出発点に、素材の選定と特性を一つ一つ検討しながら進めます。ドローイングやモックアップ、素材サンプルの検討を通じて、空間が我々に与えるポジティブな感情を実現するために職人の技術とデザインを丁寧に重ね合わせていきます。この慎重なアプローチにより、建物はその場に確かな存在感を持ち、自然と地域の風景に溶け込んでいくと信じています。
また、私たちは改修や増築においても、既存の建物や風景との調和を念頭に、手描きスケッチや詳細なレンダリング、実物のモデルを用いながら、クライアントと協力者の皆様に建築の構想を深く共有しています。地域に根ざした建築を実現するために、インテリアデザインから家具、ランドスケープ、さらにはコミュニティデザインにまで対応し、多彩な領域の専門家たちとチームを編成しながらプロジェクトに取り組んでいます。
こうしたアプローチを通して生み出される空間は、単なる「場」ではなく、人々の生活の場面に寄り添い、季節や時の流れと共に人々の記憶に残る体験を提供するものではないかと思います。田畑洋人建築研究所は、地域に愛され、その土地の風景の一部として機能する建築の創造を目指し、日々設計をしております。
Hiroto Tabata and Associates, Architects creates thoughtful and finely crafted architecture. We combine deep experience with innovative ideas in every project. Our work is recognized internationally for its quality and attention to detail.
Our design process begins with academic research based on past case studies. Through drawings and mockups, we carefully explore the characteristics of materials. We aim to harness the tactile qualities of materials and the expressive power of light, combining them with craftsmanship to create spaces that offer sensory richness.
We place great importance on respecting the cultural and historical context of each project, seamlessly integrating it into contemporary design. This approach enables us to harmonize new architecture with existing environments, which is particularly evident in renovation and expansion projects. Throughout the design process, we use not only hand-drawn sketches, drawings, perspectives, and renderings but also physical models and material samples to clearly convey the subtleties of space to clients and collaborators.
Our office is recognized for its comprehensive design capabilities, ranging from architecture to interior design, furniture design, landscape design, and community design. We collaborate with architects, designers, art directors, and craftsmen both domestically and internationally to assemble the optimal team for each project. This holistic approach allows us to create spaces that resonate deeply with users, rooted in the specific characteristics of each location.
As a result, our office has successfully led projects that contribute to regional revitalization. Our designs are not just about creating spaces but about offering experiences that become a vital part of people’s everyday lives and are cherished by the communities they serve.

神奈川県茅ヶ崎市出身。17歳より音響技師アシスタントを始め、その後カナダ・トロントに移り、音響技師として従事。音響技術からコンサートホール設計への興味を持ち、建築学を学ぶため渡英。ロンドン芸術大学 Central Saint Martins 校にて空間デザインを学び、The Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design では Feilden Fowles Architects や Casswell Bank Architectsより建築学を学ぶ。その後、フランス・パリの Moreau Kusunoki Architects にて実務経験を積む。2018年中頃よりフリーランスのデザイナーとして、HIROTO TABATA DESIGNを設立し、活動を開始。2025年に株式会社田畑洋人建築研究所を設立し、現在に至る。
He began his career as a sound engineer assistant at the age of 17. After attending a sound engineering college in Tokyo, he moved to Canada to advance his career as a sound engineer. As his interests shifted towards architecture, he pursued studies at Central Saint Martins and The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design at London Metropolitan University, where he met Feilden Fowles and Casswell Bank Architects. After completing his education, he gained professional experience at Moreau Kusunoki Architects in Paris. In mid-2018, he transitioned to freelancing.
